“Seeking God’s Direction”

Matthew 7:7; 1 John 5:14

God’s desire is for all of his children to make right decisions in every circumstance. He does not hold his will or secrets from them. However, your attitude about God’s guidance makes all the difference. His instructions are reserved for those who fear him and express the knowledge that God always knows what’s right.

A Pattern for Making Decisions

1. Clear the Pathway. In order to hear the Lord’s Voice, you must not be preoccupied_no distractions, remove all obstacles by clearing your heart, removing Sin_ because Sin hinders God’s Voice and his presence. Ask God to remove anything in your life that does not reflect who you are in him.

Exercise Patience

2. You must understand you cannot hurry God he has his Own timing, because we always want Our needs– questions answered immediately. Patience requires a willingness to TRUST GOD and submit to his timing, (Psalm 25:3) in other words when God delays he’s just working out the details.

Persist in Prayer

3. Just because you don’t receive an immediate answer from the Lord, it doesn’t mean he isn’t listening. The purpose of persistent prayer is not to force God to do what you want him to do, but for you to See the Situation the way God sees it.
