“Relying On God’s Power Not Our Own”

Philippians 4:10-13

11/11/13

Humanly speaking, the apostle Paul had much to brag about, his qualifications are found in Philippians 3:4-6. However, he understood that impressive “credentials” are not what really matter. Paul rightly saw that knowing Christ and relying on him are the source of genuine value in life. Writing from Places that were lowly in both a physical and emotional sense, the apostle is a classic example of how believers should view themselves namely as the Father does.  The best way to do that is to recognizeGod as the Source of Our Power.

“I Can Do All Things Through Him Who Strengthens Me” (Philippians 4:13)

Many of Us know this Verse Verbatim, but have We accepted it’s truth? To Say “all things” may Seem like a bold Statement, But it is balanced. The emphasis is Not On “I CAN”, but rather on the fact that I can THROUGH CHRIST– He Supplies everything we need to carry out his Plan for Our lives. If we Open up Our lives to his will his way He will abundantly Supply all we need to carry out his Purpose.

   “A Strong Life”

Matthew 7:24-29; Philippians 4:13

11/24/13

Everyone is building their lives on something either the firm foundation of God’s Word or the unstable Sands of this World, But no matter what you’ve done in the past Or how old you are, it’s never too late to begin building on the rock. A person with a Strong life.

HAS TRUSTED JESUS CHRIST AS HIS PERSONAL SAVIOR:  This is the Starting Point and the very foundation for A STRONG LIFE that cannot be ignored if you wish to grow stronger in faith.

IS GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT: At the Moment of Salvation, Christ Sent his Holy Spirit to live within Us. His function is to empower us to obey, order Our Steps and wisely Guide Our decisions.

HAS MADE SPENDING TIME WITH GOD IN PRAYER A PRIORTY: This is our connecting Point with God and the means for Strengthening Our relationship with him. A person with a Strong Life is committed to the daily discipline of prayer and will Go to God in Prayer about every aspect of life what matters to you matters to him.

HAS BUILT HIS LIFE UPON THE WORD OF GOD: The bible is Our guide book for life it’s The voice of the Lord Speaking directly to Us. Obeying its truths is not an option. When We consistently feed on his Word; He’ll give us direction to face the trials and sufferings of life.

IS OPTIMISTIC: Since God is the One who controls and guides Our lives, We can be Optimistic about Our future no matter what uncertainties Surround Us.

IS QUICK TO FORGIVE: An unforgiving Spirit affects Our emotions, relationships, and even our bodies. It also hinders every aspect of Our Walk with Christ. We’re Strong when we realize how much we’ve been forgiven by God, and can more readily forgive others.
