“Acquiring Wisdom”

  John 14:6; James 1:5-6

The bible makes a distinction between two different kinds:

Worldly Wisdom is the use of knowledge and information. It’s based on human understanding and reasoning, but it is foolishness to the Lord (I Corinthians 3:19).

Godly Wisdom is the capacity to see things from Gods perspective and respond according to the principles of Gods’ Word. This helps the man or woman of God to withstand and situation.

HOW DOES ONE ACQUIRE GODLY WISDOM

We can acquire the godly Wisdom we need by:

Seeking it. No one is born with Wisdom, so we are left with two options– Seek it or face the consequences of living without it. The writer of Proverbs says WISDOM IS SUPREME;THEREFORE GET WISDOM. (Proverbs 4:7). He lets Us know that WISDOM is a gift God gives to those who search for it, like Searching for hidden treasures.

You must be consistence in your search.

MEDITATING ON GOD’S WORD

The bible is the Mind of God. So reading Scripture you are actually reading the Mind Of God. You are reading his thoughts which become part of us and affect how we live.

That’s why we should begin every day reading, Meditating on God’s Word and ask him to direct Our Steps for the days journey.

“Seeking God’s Direction”

 6/29/14

 Matthew 7:7; 1 John 5:14

God’s desire is for all of his children to make right decisions in every circumstance. He does not hold his will or secrets from them. However your attitude about God’s guidance makes all the difference. His instructions are reserved for those who fear him and express the knowledge that God always knows what’s right.

A Pattern for Making Decisions

1. Clear the Pathway. In order to hear the Lord’s Voice, you must not be preoccupied-no distractions, remove all obstacles by clearing your heart, removing Sin because Sin hinders God’s Voice his presence. Ask God to remove anything in your life that does not reflect who you are in him.

Exercise Patience

2. You must understand you cannot hurry God he has his Own timing, because we always want Our needs– questions answered immediately. Patience requires a willingness to TRUST GOD and submit to his timing. (Psalm 25:3) in other words when God delays he’s just working out the details.

Persist in Prayer

3. Just because you don’t receive an immediate answer from the Lord, it doesn’t mean he isn’t listening. The purpose of persistent prayer is not to force God to do what you want him to do, but for you to See the Situation the way God sees it.
