“Listening To God”

James 1:22-25, Psalm 1:1-6

The Lord Our God Speaks to Us in many Ways. He speaks to Us in Nature, He speaks to Us in Circumstances, He speaks to Us in his Word.

There Are Two Types of Listeners the PURPOSEFUL LISTNER and PASSIVE ONE.

PURPOSEFUL LISTENER- Attend Worship Services on a regular basis and expect to hear a Word from the Lord; they put into Practice what they learn.

PASSIVE LISTNERS-May enjoy a Sermon but have no intention of applying what was taught, as a result they fail to grow spiritually.

The BIBIE TEACHES US TO LISTEN, Read Matthew 17:5; Mark 4:3, Jesus wanted, everyone to pay attention and apply his teaching to their lives.

HOW DO YOU LISTEN TO THE FATHER, FIRST of all you can’t listen to God when you are distracted, the bible says be Still and know that I AM God, Exodus 14:14, and you must read the bible. God will never tell you anything that will contradict his word.

Listen to the Holy Spirit his function is to guide you as he Speaks to you. Pray-Prayer is talking and listening to God.

Listen to God PRAYERFULLY as you read God’s Word ask him how to apply what you have read.

Submissively Be Willing to do whatever he says. Expectantly anticipate that he will meet with you.
