God Is Speaking Are You Listening?”     John 16:13

3/16/14

Our ears are tuned to whatever holds Our hearts and attention. If this world and what it has to offer is Our main focus, we’ll hear its messages, however if Our hearts are set on Christ, we’ll take time to listen for his guidance and directives, but many people have never learned to discern his voice.

WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY REASONS PEOPLE DON’T LISTEN TO GOD?

They don’t have a relationship with him. Although the Lord’s desire is for all Men every where is to be Saved. Those who reject him will discover they cannot hear his voice.

The Messages of the World Drown Out God’s Voice. Instead of being concerned about the things of this World, believers should seek the mind of God and what he wants to do in their lives daily.

They have rejected reading and meditating on the Word. Ignoring the Scriptures increases worldly thinking while decreasing a desire to hear from Our heavenly Father.

Sin has Prevented them from hearing God. Any time believers harbor Sin in their lives, it blocks their Spiritual ears.

WHY DO WE NEED TO LISTEN TO THE LORD?

He’ll guide Us and Provide what we truly need. To make decisions, because what Matters to you Matters to God.

To Be Encouraged. No One can encourage you like the Lord, but we have to listen to him or it will go right by Us.

To Be Strengthen. Whenever we need the Strength to keep going God can Strengthen us for the task.

To know the Father’s Will. When we’re Seeking to understand his will, we Must Stop and be Still, and listen to hear his voice.

Are you listening to the Lord and walking obediently before him every day? The only way to be happy in the Lord is to Trust and Obey.

You have heard it Said, I have heard it Said “ Let Your conscience be your guide.” But is that a Wise Thing to do?

When God created Adam and Eve, he designed them to obey him. That was the value system meant to govern their behavior. When they Sinned, and internal alarm went off and they tried to hide from him because they felt guilty. Everyone possesses this same warning mechanism. Romans 1:19 says that which is known about God is evident within them. This means that no one has an excuse for sin because God has given us each a conscience he designed.

THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CONSCIENCE IS NOT TO GUIDE YOU. Scripture never tells a believer to follow his or her conscience because it’s unreliable. It can be “good”  (1Timithy 1:19) or “Evil” (Hebrew 10:22).

A GOOD CONSCIENCE PROTECTS YOU. The unsettling alarm that Sounds Within you when you’re planning a bad decision is the Lord’s way of keeping you from making foolish mistakes. But Some choose to ignore this and do what they want.

YOU CAN TRUST YOUR CONSCIENCE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.  Though  it is unreliable for the most part there are certain conditions you can rely on that is:

  •    When Christ is your Lord and Savior.
  •    The Bible is your Standard of conduct, you have a Strong desire to obey God.
  •    You prayerfully consider your decisions. You feel guilty after being disobedient.
